August 31, 2023 (Chatham-Kent, ONT) A globally connected cultural movement for “Mother Earth” – named the Sophia Federation – has partnered with a Chatham-Kent based organization called PyraPod to bring universal awareness to the unique peacemaking role that the Underground Railroad is now playing for the conclusion of the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent in 2024 – focused especially on the Detroit River’s long standing potential as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Sophia Federation uses creative arts from the Great Rift Valley communities extending from Western Asia to Southern East Africa to optimize humanity’s modern day connection to the storied cradle of civilization. This universal outlook will be used to highlight the geopolitical role that the Detroit River can bring to UNESCO as the “north star” to the Underground Railroad from American Abolitionism to Canadian Emancipation.

The Sophia Federation serves as a 21st century laboratory for improved peacemaking and collaboration using Canadian designed, open source, natural sunlight systems that are inspired by the iconic pyramids from Ancient Egypt – called PyraPods.

The PyraPod campaign is led by school aged Pyranauts who use metacognition, strategic gaming and model-making to create increased awareness about the social relationship between natural sunlight and public spaces in urban planning – typically represented by monolithic obelisks such as the Washington Monument in the USA. The first Pyranaut obelisk system to be released into the global marketplace will be proposed for the Thames River in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, called a “Bubble Tekhen” that stands some 20ft tall comprising liquid foam bubbles, LED lights and transparent nylon membranes.

The Bubble Tekhen will also be the centerpiece for a continuing “Jubilee Village” ecosystem throughout South Western Ontario where further PyraPod innovations can be introduced in harmony with UNESCO principles such as the Sustainable Development Goals. The flagship for these purposes is called the PyraTent for “closed controlled ecological environments” that can safely shelter indoor aquaponic gardens with a “completely zero carbon” footprint using natural sunlight without the need for expensive LED systems.

The Pyranauts regional representative for Windsor Essex, Ontario – Ian Brown – has welcomed the opportunity to feature its product line at the epicenter of the International Month for the Underground Railroad, saying “Chatham served as a celebrated terminus for fugitive slaves seeking freedom and we are honored to now build on this legacy by bringing peace, unity and solidarity to the international community through natural sunlight.”
